VP MicroLab® BASIC “See, Calculate, Touch, Feel, Understand, Improve”

 

The Virtual Proteins MicroLab BASIC concept is a combination of intelligent software that runs on a low-end platform (PC, VPML Client) and a new innovative hardware device called VP MicroLab®, which is a kind of virtual reality microscope which enables the user to interact with a 3D environment like protein or patient model , using augmented reality techniques. When the user looks into this VP MicroLab©, connected to his PC, he will see the dynamic model projected between his own hands in the real world and he can use special 3D-tools to modify and analyze this virtual model.

We have combined a number of available and proven computer technologies like Augmented Reality, Artificial Intelligence, 3D Pattern Recognition and Assembly Modeler. These technologies have been integrated into an ease of use and easy accessible system that will establish a 3D-communication bridge between sciences like Biology, Biochemistry, Mathematical Physics, Pharmacology and Bioinformatics, with different layers of GUI’s. The system will be able to serve a myriad of user requirements and user skills, from fundamental researchers to nurses and physicians.

 

The VP MicroLab® can be connected the Virtual Proteins User community through the Internet to download the latest scientific information or latest software from the Virtual Proteins Server. Furthermore, Virtual Proteins MicroLabs can be connected to each other in a network environment to increase the research (and cooperation) possibilities offered by the MicroLabs.
